2014 BMW M4 Concept Release Date - BMW has yet to confirm what the new M3 and M4 models will be packed , but the VIN information found on the web show car will get their power from the inline six-cylinder engine 3.0 - liter S55 encoded . That makes it sound very much like a high-performance derivative of the N55 , twin -scroll turbo engine used in the BMW 335i , among others .

Power must be good at about 416 horsepower , equivalent to the output of the current M3 coupe - but perhaps with more area under the curve , which is to say : more torque . Good torque . Unconfirmed reports have previously suggested a six -cylinder output of M to be around 450 horsepower , courtesy of a new 3.3 -liter displacement and two - or possibly three - turbocharger . It seems less likely because the production is getting closer .
